写雅思小作文除了要注意固定的结构、必写的数据、常用的句型和词汇，还要注意时态是否运用正确。本文石家庄朗欧教育讲师讲解小作文中几种常被误用的时态。
一、线条图中横轴出现过去、现在、将来时间点，写总结要用一般现在时。
这个图中，如果我们要总结“在这段时间内，汽油和石油是主要的能源，煤和天然气的使用量相似，而可再生能源的使用量少”就得用一般现在时，不用纠结有过去现在将来三种时间出现。
Throughout this period, while petrol and oil are the dominant fuel sources, renewables used are minimal, and consumption of energy derived from coal and natural gas shares a similar upward trend.
二、柱状图描写数据变化趋势，要用进行时。
上面的图，如果要表达“该公司员工数量逐年上涨，入职5年内离职的员工数量逐年下降”就不能写成：
The number of employees in this company increases annually, whereas that of those leaving within five years decreases every year. (×)
要改成现在进行时：The number of employees in this company is increasing annually, whereas that of those leaving within five years is decreasing every year. (√)
三、图标中呈现的是过去到目前的数据时，写“自...以来(since ...)”用现在完成时，写“在...年(in ...)”用一般过去时，写“直到...年(by ...)”用过去完成时。
如果写“自1995年以来，女性使用互联网的百分比增长超50%”就应该写成：
The number of women who have ever used the Internet has increased by more than 60% since 1995.
如果写“在2005年，女性使用互联网的百分比达到了大约70%”就应该写成：The percentage of women who have accessed the Internet rose to approximately 70% in 2005.
如果写“直到2000年，女性使用互联网的百分比几乎和社会平均值相当”就可以写成：
The percentage of women who have been exposed to the Internet had almost matched the average figure for all people by 2000.
