写作示范

In the era of globalization, multicultural societies are common in most developed countries. As a consequence, new challenges at both national and international levels have become apparent, and successful adaptation to this new phenomenon of migration appears as a fundamental issue. Therefore, there are some people who argue that this tendency would bring more merits rather than demerits to society. Personally, I partially agree with this idea.

First of all, a multicultural society promotes the innovation of the whole society to a certain extent. This is because people from different countries speak different mother tongues, which represents diverse ways of thinking patterns. In other words, the existence of a pluralistic society represents the diversity of thinking modes in that society. When people communicate with people with different thinking modes, it will eventually be conducive to the cultivation of their divergent thinking, thus promoting the innovation of the whole society.

Besides, a multicultural society is conducive to the integration of different cultures. In the past, due to geographical isolation and other factors, people from different countries did not understand each other enough, and even because of the limited information or even blockade, citizens from various ethnic groups may misunderstand or discriminate against other countries. However, with the development of the Internet and global transportation, people now live together regardless of their nationalities and communicate with each other to exchange what they have, which is beneficial to enhance the understanding between people of all countries. For example, European people's understanding of China used to mostly come from movies, and misunderstood China as a deprived and backward country. As more and more Europeans come to live or work in China, but now a growing number of people recognize and appreciate Chinese culture, which facilitates cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries.

Admittedly, the existence of a multicultural society does bring about some problems. One of the most obvious is that for people with weak national identity, they are very easy to be eroded by other countries' cultures, and eventually lead to cultural assimilation. However, at present, governments of all countries attach great importance to the protection and publicity of their own culture, and strengthen the education of history and language since childhood. I believe that, to a certain extent, this can improve the cultural identity of their citizens.

In conclusion, despite the drawbacks that multiculturalism may bring about, it seems to me that this would exert beneficial impacts on the countries globally.
